Rosebank Oil Field Location Map

The Rosebank field map location : Atlantic Ocean, north west of Shetland Islands, UK.

  The missile is loaded with 150kg of explosives, but is reportedly disarmed so would not explode upon hitting anything.
• Mike Oday
  The missile is in danger of launching outwith control. A system fault has created the potential to launch by error.

  Airspace in the area has also been shut down. Rather embarrassing for Denmark and the navy, this comes on the back of a recent sacking of a Danish Naval commander. General Fleming Lentfer didn't report a major fault with the defence systems of his ship while under attack in the Red Sea by a Houthi rebel drone.

  The Great Belt Strait is one of the busiest sea routes in the world. Because of the location of the incident, the situation has rapidly escalated from a technical issue to an international event and worldwide news.

  The Niels Juel frigate fired to launch the missile. It passed the stage where its launch sequence could not be stopped but then failed. There is the possibility that it could launch until it can be stabilised.

  The bridge across the Great Belt Strait is not as yet closed to traffic. Even though the frigate Niels Juel and its wayward missile are well within range of the huge Great Belt bridge.

  Problem solved, same day. Shipping and air route cleared for traffic once more.
