The Government of New Zealand have u-turned on a previous decision to stop all new exploration for oil and gas. Renewables are just not cutting it, and current production is slowing enough that new wells are needed. Despite this decision, the New Zealand government claim that their climate goals are still achieable and will not be altered. Industry leaders and workers are delighted. This will bring longer term security for well paid jobs. Many businesses rely on the oil and gas industry. The Greens are of course as you'd expect not so pleased.
