Western sanctions continue to make Russian oil unattractive for India. China on the other hand has never bought so much from Russia. But for how long as they too are not immune to the sanctions? Meanwhile, tankers full of Russian oil languish in the Indian ocean, rejected by India, they await a new buyer.

  2024, India now buying more oil from Saudi Arabia and USA. Purchased volumes from the USA at the highest in nearly one year.
• Amanda Duarte
  2024, Russia is still the largest supplier to India. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, many nations stopped purchasing Russian oil. India on the other hand bought more.
• Paul Rosenberg
  Russia has gone from supplying 40% of Indian imported oil in 2023, to 30%. USA, has gone from 4% back up to 9%. Figures are approximate.
