This is a great story about a USA company (Joby Aviation) that are looking to change how we get from the airport to our homes. Right now, you step off a long flight and you want to get home as quickly as possible. But you or your Uber driver has to fight through traffic out of the airport, along the highway/motorway and again when they arrive at your town.

Imagine instead you step off the long flight, but this time you go through to a separate transfer terminal where you board an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL). Your baggage is already in the hold and off you go. Landing at the nearest heliport landing point to your house which is likely to be a similar distance as a train station is for most people. Then a quick taxi/Uber and you're home. These electric vertical take-off and landing aircrafts can land in the same space as a helicopter.

  Archer Aviation just got the go-ahead from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the US to operate their air taxis commercially. The company reckon they can offer customers a similar price to road based taxi companies.
